The Gra says there are two mitzvos that are unique in that the person fulfills them by being physically present: the mitzvah of Sukkah, and the mitzvah of Yishuv Eretz Yisroel.

Whether they’ve made their apartments a diras arei or diras kevah, our residents were fortunate to fully realize these two mitzvos while enjoying the serenity of private living, luxurious amenities, and the comfort of their beautiful new homes.

The onset of Shemittah, which is one of the מצוות התלויות בקדושת ארץ ישראל, further underscores to us the essence that lies behind buying a home in Yerushalayim. Beyond the expansiveness offered by an upscale apartment and an excellent financial investment, the acquisition and ownership of actual property in Eretz Yisroel allows one to truly fulfill the mitzvah of Yishuv Eretz Yisroel. By extension, one also acquires the mitzvah of Shemittah through retaining a true קנין בעלות in קרקע ארץ ישראל. We were privileged to usher in 5782 as well, with the observance of Mitzvas Shemitta in our very own Amphora Garden.
